Basics of Health

Nutrition

Healthy eating plays a major role in disease prevention and health maintenance. A good diet should deliver useful nutrients to support the body and its systems; rather than clog it up with unnecessary sugars and fats which could eventually cause disease.

Good eating need not mean dull eating, however. If you are worried that your diet contains too much processed, convenience or non-nourishing food, make the change gradually by introducing more fresh fruit, vegetables, whole grain food, and appropriate protein and dairy products.

The factors to good nutrition:

Exercise

The body was designed to work.
Physical activity or exercise can improve your health and reduce the risk of developing several diseases like type 2 diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular disease. Physical activity and exercise can have immediate and long-term health benefits. Most importantly, regular activity can improve your quality of life. A minimum of 30 minutes a day can allow you to enjoy these benefits.

Sleep

Sleep keeps us healthy and functioning well. It lets your body and brain repair, restore, and re-energize. If you don't get enough sleep, you might experience side effects like poor memory and focus, weakened immunity, and mood changes. Most adults need 7 to 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep each night.

Mental Wellness

Mental well-being is a positive state of mental health. Being mentally well means that your mind is functioning in your best interest. You are able to think, feel and act in ways that create a positive impact on your physical and social well-being.

Nutritional Supplements

Plant-based products and natural supplements support the body's innate healing capacity. They work independently or alongside conventional medical treatments to successfully address health issues at their root cause.
